National Web Strategy for Local Communities
A national community directory and a multi-tenant hosting platform for local community websites in support of the national communications strategy of an American religious organization.
I am an independent software developer focused on building durable systems for public or mission-driven organizations. I aim to deliver systems that meet the real needs of both organizations and users, that are inexpensive to operate, simple to secure and maintain, and easy to adapt as circumstances change.
I have worked on web properties and platforms that served large national organizations, collaborating with leadership, governance, and content teams with widely varying technical capacity. I have taken responsibility for critical systems work that would otherwise stall teams or be repeatedly deferred. I have restructured large projects to support long-term maintenance as organizational needs changed.
I am now based in Auckland, New Zealand. In my spare time I enjoy writing music, traveling, hiking and playing racquet sports. I am always interested in thoughtful projects that genuinely strive to help the people who rely on them. If that sounds like your situation, feel free to get in touch.
