A national community directory and a multi-tenant hosting platform for local community websites in support of the national communications strategy of an American religious organization.

Role:

  • Development of a national directory of local communities
  • Design and implementation of a multi-tenant platform
  • Training and support of local webmasters and content owners
  • Analysis of results and trends related to the project

Outcome:

I led the technical design and hands-on implementation of a national directory and an incubator for local community websites, within a consultative process guided by organizational direction. The national directory has remained operational for over 10 years with minimal technical intervention and no cost. The local website incubator hosted about 100 community websites at its peak, and was later phased out after helping dozens of communities develop their web presence and transition to long-term platforms.
